You can comment your own photo and thank the people there or you can visit their galleries and comment their photos (click at "read photo discussion" and then at "respond").

  Hi Colette,

Welcome to BP!

I personally think the nicest way to say "thanks" is to spend some time looking at the gallery of the commenter and to leave a comment or two.

Both of the above are nice ways to thanks someone, or you can just send them BP mail.

  Welcome Colette,
Learning photography is a lot of fun but it does take some study, practice and experimentation. Exposure is the key essential IMO for a solid base to build on and there are several classes offered here at BP and the instructors are all fantastic. I would take an Exposure/Composition class along with a photo editing class for Photoshop (or Elements) as I feel that to capture an image the way we want goes hand in hand with our abilities to process & edit the images. When I started with BP, I was lucky to have the time & $$ to double up on classes which increased the speed of my learning curve.
Have fun, its a wonderful journey :)
From one of the guys,
Carlton
