which tamron lens to buy Is it worth paying £250,00 more for a Tamron 18-270mm f3.5-6.3 VC PZD Lens instead of the Tamron 18-270mm f3.5-6.3 VC Lens ( the only difference being the PZD which for me as a beginner does not mean anything but might be useful in the future. Would appreciate some help on this. I also need to buy a tripod to use with this lens and my canon 500D IS. Some feedback would be great as I can't decide what to buy. Many thanks

Hello Fernanda, I read this off the B&H site: The Tamron AF18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di-II VC PZD AF Lens is a 15x high power zoom lens designed exclusively for digital SLR cameras using the more compact (APS-C) digital size image sensors. The focal length of this lens is equivalent to approx. 28-419mm in 35mm format. Designed as an "all-in-one" lens, it will meet almost all photographic opportunities without changing lenses. The addition of PZD (Piezo Drive) ultrasonic autofocus motor helps make this lens lighter, short and slimmer than any previous lens in this category, and provides faster, quieter auto-focusing.

Hi Carlton Thank you so much for your opinion. I really appreciate it. Will have to make a decision this week. Have also checked your gallery very quickly but will go back later. .You have wonderful pictures. You must be very proud of them. I am just a beginner but the best course had so far was here at betterphoto. There is so much to learn.

Hi Fernando, I have taken a few courses as well here at BP and its a fun learning curve so enjoy the journey :) My Pro BP site is down at the moment but I will hopefully get it back up soon. Also keep in mind when buying lenses that some are made for any type camera (full frame & those with cropped APS-C sensors) and other will only work on APS-C. The Tamron 18-270 will only work on cropped sensors so it would not work on my full frame 5D Mk II camera. Cheers, Carlton
