When does your photo appear

Hello, I have uploaded two photos in the Animal Section of the Better Photo contest over the past two days. However, I cannot see these images when I click on the Animals category of the contest, even though a message comes up saying my submissions into the competition were successful. How long does it take for your images to appear in the Contest gallery, after you have uploaded them? Many thanks for your help, in advance. Best regards, Janet

If it says your submission are successful to the contest, that means they ARE included in the current month.

However, the order they appear on the page is not when you enter into contest, but when you Upload the image originally. Eg., if you have uploaded an image a week ago and only entered it today in the contest, it will be appearing a few pages down in the category you entered the image in. Hope this clarifies some.

WELCOME TO BP, Janet, I know you will have a wonderful fun / learning time here!!!

UB.

As Usman explained, the photo uploads are listed chronologically by the photo I.D. number.
It will be entered into the current month's contest but if it was uploaded more than a few days ago, there is a good chance that no one except the judges will ever see it.
If you want to have your entry appear on the current pages and hopefully get comments, you would be better off deleting it and re-uploading the same day you want to enter the contest.

Welcome to BP and good luck!

I would just add to Bob's comment---I wouldn't delete/re-enter JUST to try and get comments... you'll lose a day's worth of entry at that point (since you'd just be re-entering the same image twice in one month, deleting the first entry.)
Personally, given how many entries come in during 1 day (about 700-800) an entry only stays on the first page or two for a very short while, before getting pushed further back by newer entries, all day, every day. I don't think there is any value to paying attention to whether you find it on the first page or two... Only people who are looking at Recent Entries right when you do the upload and entry, will see your image on the first page.
While it is nice to get comments, it doesn't affect the results in anyway, so I'd not waste an entry (from delete/re-enter) just to try and drive more comments.

I was assuming she was entering a photo from her gallery...not from a previous contest entry.

Thanks very much for your help and comments everyone! I am just glad my submissions to the competition have been successful and therefore know they will be seen by the judges, regardless if they're seen in the gallery or not. Thanks again! Janet

Regarding the issue of when your images show up in recent admits: I saw a post by you, Christopher, concerning the Peace & Harmony images. You made a reference to being able to pull up submitted images by the date they were submitted. Is that possible and if so, how do you do it?

I probably wasn't clear... I simply meant that if people were uploading on Feb. 5, then as you scrolled backwards through Recent Entries (say, on the evening of Feb. 5) you'd eventually run across them, as new uploads into the contest are listed chronologically by their Photo ID (which is assigned at the moment of upload.)
If someone on Feb. 5, entered a Peace image that had been already living in their Member Center for 3 weeks, then that photo's Photo ID is much, much older already, than any image freshly uploaded---so it would not appear with the rest, "chronologically".
As far as I know, you cannot sort or view Recent Contest Entries by date of entry.
