best point and shoot Wanted to know members opionion on the best digital point and shoot for image quality. I have DSLR but want a smaller point and shoot. Purchased the Canon Powershot SX30 but very disspointed with results in low light and wanted to get some feedback.... What other brands or Canon products work well in this area.? Thanks

Hi Valerie, Good question. Back in May, BetterPhoto instructor Rob Sheppard reviewed the latest model in Canon's "G" series: Canon G11 Camera Review: Top Choice for Going Light Have fun checking it out! Kerry

In addition to the G series, the Canon Powershot s95 is one of the most highly regarded point and shoots on the market right now. It is essentially the same camera as the G, with a few different specs, and is slightly smaller. If I were to buy a P&S today, I'd chose between the G11 and S95. For a comparison of the two just google "canon g11 vs. s95" and you'll see plenty of reviews. From my experience, if you want a very solid Canon P&S with excellent image quality, and SLR-like controls, you'll have to spend around $400 (U.S.), although that's somewhat brand-dependent.

I gave my daughter the Canon Powershot SX210 IS for Christmas and she loves it. I'll try to attach two images she took in the city at night, straight from the camera before adjustments...
