slideshow resolution

I have a Mac and am wondering about slideshows. Does anyone have any experience with Photomagico? I'm wondering how it compares to I-Photo. Also, what resolution should the imgages be?
Thanks!

  Hi Christine,
I am also a MAC guy and I used to use ProShow Gold for slideshows when I used PCs but they dont make MAC versions and I dont like iPhoto so I am interested as well about Photomagico or is it FotoMagico ?
I usually size my images to either 800 or 1200 on the long side - depending on what I am using them for...
I would probably use 1200 since I often use a projector for my slideshows.
Let me know if you try Photomagico and what you like/dislike about it - please :)

FotoMagico

Cheers,
Carlton

Thanks, Carlton. I had no idea about resolution. I'll try 1200. I assume this would work on dvd and a tv as well as a projector?
As far as Fotomagico, I've only read about it but heard from one of the instructors that it's a good program.
What do you use for a mac? I need to upgrade and am thinking of the mini. Any thoughts?
Thanks again!
Chris

Hi Christine,
I downloaded the trial of FotoMagico and am working on a new slideshow (580 photos) now. I still have a ways to go to see what all I can do with it :)
I have a 24" iMac (bought in 2007) that is now under-powered to run Photoshop CS5 (2.4gHz processor & 4GB RAM) so I ill increase my RAM to 8GB and see if that helps. I also have an older 15.4" Macbook Pro but I dont use it for editing except for easy stuff when I am away from home. I would love to get the new 27" iMac Quad-Core but cant afford one right now :)
Blessings,
Carlton
