Online Photo Printing

Has anyone used MPIX or BayPhoto for printing their images? I am thinking of printing a couple of my pictures to hang up at home, but larger than the current printer I have at home. I'm also interested in trying out the metal prints that BayPhoto has, and possibly getting 1 or 2 shots put on canvas at MPIX.

I have used MPIX for prints and have been very pleased with the prints, and the turnaround speed. I used their metallic paper for one shot, and it was really a noticeable difference over regular paper. Very pearly with a pronounced shine. I've not tried their canvas products.
You might want to try a simple test run with MPIX... for about $10 delivered, you can get 4 prints at 5x7---use a single image so you can compare the 4 outcomes: Get 1 done on "E-Surface" paper, 1 on Metallic, 1 on E-Surface w/ Lustre, 1 on Metallic with Lustre---then you'll have a good sampling of their papers and finishes results. (They also have a "True B/W paper" which I've not tried yet.)

Chris has a great suggestion. But I'll also sing the praises of MPIX -- both my husband and I use it when we're submitting physical prints to a contest. Especially love the metallic paper, which seems to add a whole new dimension to prints we want to hang on the wall or give to friends.

I use MPIX as well. Usually have my nature and landscape photos done on metallic paper and I am always very pleased. I have tried the true b/w paper and have been pleased with that as well. MPIX has the greatest customer service I have come across in years.

Awesome, thanks Monnie & D! I've already uploaded some photos to MPIX and am going to order some 8 x 10 prints. I'm thinking of joining a local camera club here in CT, so I wanted to have them for my portfolio.

  Hi Jeffrey,
I am also a fan of MPIX and use Zenfolio for my customers to order prints and have sold some 24 x 36 inch prints. Customers can also order digital downloads and all the price-lists are customizable.
