Contest Entries If you enter an image in the "People" category, can you enter a different image in the same category a week later? Will it be considered or is it one image per category for one month.

Charlotte, you can enter an image in the contest every day. One image per day in any of the categories.

Jessica, Thanks for your response. I understand the one photo per day rule. It's just not clear about the categories. If I enter a photo and it does not get selected in the first round, may I enter a second photo in the same category a week later and will it be given consideration?

Hi Charlotte, You can enter 30 photos a month (? days) and they will all be screened and some selected as EPs as the month goes and the finalists are all announced at the same time the during the following month with winners selected a few days later. I dont know if its allowed or even a good idea to use the same image twice during a specific month. If I have an image that doesn't get selected, I re-check my photo for composition & exposure and check my editing in case I over-saturated, left distracting background objects in the frame, etc... If I dont find a fault, I just chalk it up that BP is crazy for not selecting it (kidding) and re-submit it a month or 2 later. I have actually only done this once. Cheers, Carlton

Yes, you may even enter 30 (or 31, depending on the month) images in the People category every month (one per day, of course) if you wish. All these will be considered by the judges. It does not matter which of your images will get selected and which won't, you can still enter an image per day and select any category you wish.

What maybe confused you is that usually the same person will not get 2 or more Winners in the same category (e.g. People or Flowers) the same month (but it's possible to get more than 1 Finalist; I've seen that; it's also possible to win in different categories). So, if you want to submit 2 absolutely brilliant photos this month, then maybe you should submit one in People and the other in Catch-All or some other suitable category. Anyway, this only concerns Winners and getting a Winner does not happen very often. Good luck!

Charlotte, I'm not sure what you mean by entering a second photo? Do you mean the same photo? If it's not selected for an Editors Pick, you can enter it again the following month if you like.

Thanks again for all the help. I enjoyed looking through all of your galleries. It's inspiring, intimidating and overwhelming at the same time. So many fabulous images of so many diverse places and things can make one feel a little inadequate. Ken, are your infrared images done "in camera" or through post processing?
