The sur-realist
This is my first ever attempt at surreal/digital manipulation photography. I'd love feedback.

I'm dabbling in photo manipulation/creating digital images and trying to expand my creativity with my photos. I'd like feedback on it.
Is it appealing/intriguing? would you purchase something like this? what could I do to improve it? am I on the right track? thanks so much for your feedback! I appreciate constructive criticism (and complements if they're real).

  Hi Rebecca,
Art is Art and everyone has their own preferences.
Personally, I like it and think you did a great job with the image. The only suggestion I would make is maybe lighten (Dodge) the face a little as it is a tad dark.
Cheers,
Carlton

Not my cup of tea, but I think Carlton is right. Not the whole face, just a little bit less shadow from about the ear up.

I think the butterflies are too perfect (in shape) given the amount of manipulation done to the woman. I guess I want to see more surreal butterflies as well, to go with the wildly distorted woman. I think the distortions of the woman should be more thoroughly applied--other than the eye, the face/neck seem too close to "normal" to meld with the torso and arms.
I'm not a surrealist by any means, so these are just my two cents' worth!
