Online magazine promotes copyright theft

I could not find an appropriate category to post this comment, so I chose the one it seems most visited. This information has just come to my attention and I thought it pertinent enough to share.

PilferedMagazine.com, on their 'about' page.

"PILFERED is a place where artists, photographers, designers, and the inspired can submit their favorite visuals pilfered from the web to share with one another. Founded on the spirit of web democracy, and built to aid in communicating ideas and concepts, PILFERED Magazine aims to assist in speaking the thousand words – visually."

Their philosophy is that any image out there on the web is public domain and this is the new democracy of photography. They claim to give "credit" IF they can find out who produced the image.

I am in total disbelief that this can/will be tolerated. This should be passed around to the entire photography community. If you Tweet, send it around!

I'm not really surprised that somebody has gotten around to trying this. It's the days little talent, formulaic pop stars and self entitled reality celebrities.

Maybe Congress can follow their lead and publish where our tax money eventually ends up?

(...just a thought.)
