Photography Question

Selling Digital Copies

With the digital age really taking off, I want a way to provide another service to my clients. Is there a way to make a digital slide show on a flash drive, or DVD to sell to clients that the files themselves can not be ripped off, edited, printed etc. It would be nice for clients to be able to take photos to their work on a flash drive or load onto a digital frame without having to lug a huge album everywhere.

As a general rule, anything that can be displayed on a computer monitor can be "ripped off". You can make it more difficult or less difficult but if you put pics on a flash drive or DVD they can pretty much be migrated off the media.

You might consider limiting the size and pixel density to make them less usable in other media (e.g., 72 dpi with a smallish size makes it difficult to make a quality print).

Also, making your slide a Flash slideshow will make it more difficult to rip-off individual pics, though not impossible.

Cheers,

RK

Strictly rumors.
