  Hello Kelly,
I believe the most important aspect of photography is proper exposure. If you feel you need more understanding of controlling your camera to achieve the image you want to capture by using the correct f/stop-DOF, shutter speeds, ISO and lens charcteristics, this is where it all begins. If you have a firm grasp of this, there are many choices and you just need to decide which direction you want to pursue next. There are several aspects like composition, lighting, Photoshop, macro, weddings & portraits available here.
I have taken several classes taught by Jim Zuckerman, Lewis Kemper, Brenda Tharp, John Siskin and a few others and all of my classes have been exceptional.
I would take a techniques (compostion/shooting style) type class along with a Photoshop class since I had the time & energy to take 2 at the same time and this made my understanding & learning curve go much faster. This way I would learn better shooting practices and improve my editing tecniques at the same time.
I also enjoy the discussions with the other students & teacher and we all inspired each other as well.
I was lucky enough last year to go on a photo tour of Europe with Jim Zuckerman (who I have taken 3 classes from) along with 10 other photographers and this was a wonderful experience and one I will never forget. I have about 2000 images from that trip and I met several new friends who I stay in contact with :)
If you have any specific questions about the classes, I am happy to share what I know.
Good luck & Have fun,
Carlton
