Well, Aimee...Let's just say that portraiture is NOT my thing. I tried getting the wrinkles out of the making a gaussian blur copy of the entire image (after I cropped to a traditional 8x10), and then blended it over the top of the original one and painted it back in with the history brush. Then I decided it needed something else so I painted it with one of my oil brush filters. You really set us up with all those wisps of hair. I just couldn't deal with them any longer so here's what I came up with!

Fun shot Aimee. I decided to go for a normal formal portrait. I did a lot of things to it:
Crop 4X5, Selected BG and did Gaussian and color change, dup layer and Gaussian 20 pic and a normal blend at 35% opacity then erased eyes and mouth, selected eyes and applied filter to change to blue, added a blank layer and used healing brush on skin irregularities, adjusted levels, desaturated yellow, reduced vibrancy, reduced shadows slightly and did a color change on lips with a bit of saturation and lightened them.

Very cool and coy shot Aimee. I like it a lot. Really shows your personality.

As you know, I tend to get real involved in makeovers and thought that in this case I'd do just the opposite. For this image I made only one change with one tool and nothing else except the crop. Just wanted to show what could be done with PSE with one simple adjustment.

Believe it or not, this transformation was done with the high pass filter.
