Where to go in Tucson

I'm heading to Tucson in early June for business, but want to go a day early. Can anyone recommend a few places to go for some shots? I will have maybe two evenings/sunsets and one day available for shooting. I will not have a tripod available during this time. Any ideas/suggestions?

Go to Old Tucson...They used to use it for movie sets. Cool drive out there..great shots on the way..lots of cactus..watch out for the Cholla..they'll bite you and it takes forever to get the thorns out.
You won't have any trouble finding it, very well marked. Also watch for the coyote in the parking lot. Quite tame and will pose for you.

Old Tucson is a lot of fun. I have three photos on my photoblog starting here:

If you want more nature-intense experience, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is beautiful and just down the road from Old Tucson.

In addition to the amazing landscape, they also have animals that are fairly easy to photograph. I have a couple in my "Out In Arizona" photo set in my BP Gallery.

Hope the links work. I haven't tried that in a while.

Enjoy!

Debra is right! I had forgotten about the museum! They had a lot of cool stuff, too! Senior moment.

Thank you both very much. I'll keep those in mind. I know we are going to be the area northeast of the city where there is a large park.

Saguaro National Park is a great place for desert scenes.
