Photography Question

Debbie Prediger

How to add the photo details when uploading

When I upload to gallery I notice that sometimes all the photo details upload with it and sometime aperture, ISO etc is blank and I have to manually look it up and add to the description. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong.
thanks
Debbie

Debbie, if I understand your question correctly, you are referring to the EXIF data. Saving to TIFF does not retain that Info. Saving to .psp, .psd, and .jpg will retain the EXIF. At this time, BP doesn't allow for EXIF (per another thread).

Check to see if you have the EXIF data for the photo you upload. It may be that during the processsing of the photo that it was lost. I have noticed that some of the processing tools I use do that. Therefore, after uploading the photo I go to the original photo, make a note of tne EXIF data and add that to description, just as you are doing.

Thanks for the help. What I am finding is that I was just manually typing in the data, but once I uploaded and the data was added twice..once by me and once automatically. I wondered how I could get it to do this everytime.
The one time it worked I was using aperature to tell me the data before I uploaded the photo, but I am not sure why this would make it any difference.

Does anyone know if PS Elements 6 will auto upload the EXIF data? I can get it to display when I am viewing through the Organizer - but I have never been able to get it data to upload.
Thanks!!
