How to fotograph the colour Red

  Oversaturated rose
Oversaturated rose
No flash, Nightime portrait setting, Natural lighting, Kodak Z7590

I have tried every setting on my digital camera and can not fotograph things that are red. Everything in the fotograph is perfect but the red items. The are always oversaturated. I have tried various different lighting angles and even tried different cameras. Same thing issue. HELP! what causes this and how do I correct it other than editing in Photoshop?

Assuming the camera used is the Kodak Z7590 as noted...
The options for contolling the color saturation of the image with in-camera settings is limited. Make sure the White Balance chosen is close to what the actual light source is (Tungsten?), and that you have selected either Low Color or Natural Color for the Color Mode (p. 34 of the manual). Otherwise, you have no choice but to adjust the colors afterwards with some kind of editing software (is there any included with the Kodak camera?).

There was none included with either my Kodak Z7590 or my Z1012-IS. However they both have this issue with red. I have them both set on Natural colour. I tried Low Colour but then I still had to edit to bring the colour back to the rest of the foto. We also have a Canon ProShot but it is a bit daunting for me with all its settings so I tend to fall back on what is familiar to me.

I will read through my Manuals again and see if I can find this White Balance or Tungsten setting.
Thank you! :-)

Pamela
