web sites

Good day,
This will probubly get deleated by BP staff. They hate that this comes to light.
I Never upload on to my web site any more ever since My Son showed me how easy it was to steal from it.
I did recently so others could see our pups.
and this the message I got this morning:
I love your dogs so beautiful full of gentleness and love and all the same exceped for one the one with dark brown eyes. I used this picture for a school assignment but you can have it back.

ALL MEMBERS SHOULD KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT AND IF CHANGES WILL BE MADE.

I have complained before about the security issues with the web sites.
I can't even upload new work because I am affraid for the problems here.
I did upload pictures of our pups for thier new familys to view and I'll be darned if this didn't come today:

I love your dogs so beautiful full of gentleness and love and all the same exceped for one the one with dark brown eyes. I used this picture for a school assignment but you can have it back.

I'd like to know what can be done here.
I can not in good judgement pay for another year with this site if we can't expect some help.
Thank you,
Debby Tabb

I realize that anyone can take a "screen scrape" and that there is no way to prevent it - however, I HATE that people can right click download on BP, and that my images can be sent to people in email with the "share" feature. Hasn't stopped me from uploading yet, but it's definitely an aggravation.

Thank You for your understanding Tess.
It is so fustrating, since they are all paid gallerys and sites now.
So far the responce that I have gotten is that in short" it's the price you pay for uploading on to a web site.
I haven't seen or heard of this problem with my photoreflect gallery yet.

  YOu're welcome. :-)
I know that their point is that it happens with any site where you upload images, because you don't need right click to do it, you just take a screen shot. My point is, why make it easy but leaving the right click? It may or may not have have happened to you on Photoreflect...some sites are more heavily "mined" by image theives - BP is one, Flickr is another, DeviantArt, and the list goes on. BP is a popular place for theives unfortunately. :-(

Debby, there isn't a web page made that cannot be stolen from. That's why many use watermarks. Photoreflect can be stolen from just as easy. Alt-print screen can be used to grab anything on the screen. There is also a program (free download) called zap grab that will let you crop the part of the screen you want, then copy it to your clipboard. I know it's frustrating, but it's not BP fault or responsibility since there isn't any technology available to them to stop it.
