Photography Question

How do I prepare my photos for selling via the Web

I have been approached by an advertising agency in the Netherlands via a "visitor" BP e-mail. I know this sounds like a possible scam, but they are a legitimate Advertising firm. They stated they have a Canon account and are interested in one of my photos for possible publication in their next brochure.(found their web-site and this is the type of work they do) I have been working hard to be able to create a small photography business, however, since I have not sold any photos yet, and have done just a small bit of research about creating a business, I am not at all prepared to respond to them in an intelligent manner. I think it may be a long shot that they will actually purchase this image, but I would sure love to know more about contracting with advertising agencies. They said it would be a 2 year contract with 100,000 brochures in print. They want to know what I will expect for compensation and about copyright agreements. And, no, they are not asking me for any money, just one image they are interested in at this time. They will be accepting images for consideration begining Monday. They are looking for a high resolution image. I did, hoever, use PS quite extensively on this particular photo and I am not sure if that degrades resolution or if they would not consider this photo with extensive PS edits. They did say they are interested in art type images. (I use Canon Xsi) I am looking for any help, suggestions and guidence in what my next step should be. I am very excited, but this has also caught me a bit by surprise. Thank you so much for any help you can offer. Lynn
