This is my daughter. She can't sit up without some kind of support (special needs), so I used a bean bag with white sheet over it. I replaced the bg with a Chrismtas theme. This is my first time doing this, so I am not experienced with background/portrait matching.

I would like to get your opinion, suggestions, etc on my photo. I really appreciate it. Thank you. Happy Holidays.

She looks like an upbeat kid, Michele!

I think I would want a closer-up portrait type photo (head & shoulders). Can she lie on her stomach looking into the lens while you zoom in a little? Or move a bit closer.
Also I would like the lighting to be less flat, more dynamic. So how about window light* from one side? And a (D-I-Y) reflector on the other side to soften/open up the shadows?

And I'd like the Santa hat a little more out of her face so you can see a bit more of it (her face, that is). But that's personal.

*preferably a north-facing window

Have fun!

I have an idea, I shoot from ladders to get above the model/subject...why don't you try shooting from a higher angle. Make sure the ladder is stable and its helps to have someone hold the ladder while someone helps hold you...I kinda get dizzy while looking through the viewfinder (could be the Martinis)jk
Might wanna lay a sleeping bag, comforter or down pillows under the snow like blanket (I've seen some snowy XMas tree blankets that work with kids and are reasonably priced.) Then add snowflakes whatever around the scene, have her dressed up and it'll look like she's laying in the snow.

Kayla does look like a fun subject to photograph. I like both W & O's suggestions and will add that I like the colored background contrast against the white. What I dont like is the under shirt showing & black pants. I would tuck in the shirt and try some red, green or white pants.
Have fun experimenting with poses Michele, getting closer or shooting from overhead or other angles (as Oliver suggested). A reflector can really light up her face (as W suggested).
