To not hear anything good about the Nikon AF-S 18-70 f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED DX one simply isn't listening. Positive test/review HERE, another HERE, and many credible and positive user comments on it HERE. For an economical all-around lens that can take good portraits, the 18-70 is pretty good. There are or course better choices for a narrow specialized use. If needed for use in a studio specifically for portraits, a better choice for use with the D90 would be the AF-S 50 f/1.4G, AF 85 f/1.4D IF, or AF DC 105 f/2D.

There's no difference. Nikkor is the Nikon brand name for their lenses. The names are interchangeable.

"pros and cons of this lens? a good lens for portraits and for the D90?" All depends on your definition of good. If you are looking for some better glass that will be used (primarily) for portraits, try one of these: AF NIKKOR 85mm f/1.4D IF
