Gray Nightmare

I have some photos on a disk which I have uploaded to a computer. But although when I first opened the folder I could see the pictures, about a second later one by one most of each picture went gray.
When I rotate the image I can see the whole thing again for a moment then most of it goes back to gray. about a tenth of the picture at the top stays visible the rest is lost.

Any thoughts or ideas would be very much appreceated.

You might be viewing them through your web browser, and the files are too big for it.
Try re-savingin in a different folder as a smaller sized image. Make it something like 600 pixels by whatever, and see if you can view it.

Using “computer” or “my computer” depending on Windows version, right click on the picture file. A menu will appear, the last item is “properties”. Click on “properties”. Now you see the file type as well as what application is being used to open the picture. Also you will see “change”. Click on change and you will have the opportunity to select the application that will open these types of files. Likely you have a photo editor, select it. If you do not have a photo editor like PhotoShop Elements or PaintShop or one that came with your camera, rush to the nearest computer store and buy one. A good photo editor / viewer is a must for this business.

Lots of luck,

Alan Marcus
