Contest prizes I would like to know if anyone who got First Place last month has received their prizes? I haven't and BP has not contacted me. I've tried to contact BP several times and haven't heard from them! I'm hoping they'll read this in the forum. I think it's a big rip off! Ha anyone else out there been ripped off?

Hi Jessica, I have never won anything but thought I'd throw in my opinion anyway! Presume you're talking about the bag, right?! I know it's been a while but surely if there was an issue with BP not sending these out there would be a million threads on here complaining about it! Perhaps your post service is as bad as mine?! I agree that it's a bit odd BP haven't replied to you - I contacted them with a query over my new gallery and they answered right away - did you use the 'contact us' tab under the home menu? I'm sure you're annoyed but I'd be more upset if this was a deliberate act of deception by BP. I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding, or a mistake with details. Have another go contacting them. Can you send a private message to one or two of the other winners from previous months too? They might be able to let you know how long they had to wait. Sorry I couldn't be more help, but congratulations on having a terrific photo nonetheless!

Thanks, Donna and Carolyn! I contacted another winner and she got her bag. Not that she's thrilled with it. LOL! What bothers me is that BP has not responded to me. I've called them twice, emailed them and still nothing! That's why I decided to use their forum. I'd like to know of others who never received their prizes. It's not enough that they're not giving free galleries to the Second Place winners and have dispensed with the cash contest?? I'm hoping they'll read this discussion and that they won't remove it!

That bag is pretty useless AFAIC. The 2nd place prize was the best of all prizes in the past. BP might as well just abandon the 1st place prize, too. On the other hand, IMHO, the grand prize is good for BP if the winners continue to subscribe to the Deluxe Web site.

Jessica, I think you should contact Jim about your prize. I'm looking for the second place price if they still giving a year in basic/premium galleries now that they have change the renew price, my renew date is 12/16/2008. IMHO they should change the prices. I would suggest this prices: The last one because I have heard that some winners have they renew time until 2024, and if they still winning, and that's for sure they will, they will get renews until next century. Or maybe they can chose between a prize diversity. I know that many enter the contest just for fun or love to Better Photo, but if you have you gallery paid until 2024 or more I think that you might wish for some other prices. P.S. Wondering if someone can donate a bit of his/her paid time?

Nobi is right, the bags are pretty worthless. Somebody gave me one a long time ago and you can't get much in them. I gave mine away. I'd much rather have the member gallery extention, not that I'll live long enough to use up what I already have.

Elida, if you look at the August contest you'll see that they don't say Second Place anymore. As of August there are no more Second Place wins.

They say second place win on the golden egg under the picture. And in the press release they give you. Hey I'm taking it as a win since it's my first one!!! Jessica I'm sure you'll get the bag. It is sad they haven't responded, though. Maybe they are just busy with the upcoming Summit next weekend. But tell me, are the prizes really what we enter this contest for?

Yes, Ann, I don't care about the bag and of course winning the gold is the real prize, but I'm annoyed that they haven't responded. Ann, I meant that there were no prizes for 2nd place anymore. Getting a free gallery for a year was very nice!

Hi Jessica! Congratulations on your beautiful winning image. I have read in the past that the bags take longer to receive. I'm surprised that you haven't received a response from customer service. They are usually pretty quick. Maybe it is because of the Summit, as Ann said!?! I looked at the Prize listings for July and August. They warned us that there would be no Second Place prizes. Although they aren't listed, I did get a year extension for my win in July. It was a great surprise!! I'm not sure if it was the same in August. Time will tell, the new winners are just around the corner. Good luck!! Donna

One think is for sure you'll get for winning, well there are several things. One, the most important, you will get recognition from many great photographers and a sincere congratulation message. I'm sure that many of you think they should change the prizes. My final comment is what are we entering in the contest? if the prizes aren't that good. If the contest it's not free anymore we deserve more appealing prizes that give us more hope and desire to win. If they give like some kind of BP Dollars so we can change them for classes, extensions books or maybe gifts cards for some photography store, we'll be willing to renew our galleries. I'm participating in the contest because still have some time to keep doing it, and because I have meet many wonderful photographers and I have learn so much in this year the I have been part of this great group.

So funny Leslie I thought the same thing as last month I got my first second place win. And no Donna I did not receive an extension on my present gallery, but I'm not upset as luckily the $39 is within my budget for the year. July was the last month a second prize was awarded. But as I said I don't enter the contest for the prizes from BP. It is more what Elida said. It's the pride of winning and recognition you get from this wonderful family of photographers which we are all a part of. But again Jessica I do think it's wrong you didn't hear back from customer service. I've always gotten such a quick response.

Have never won anything and haven't deserved to but am I a "conspiracy theorist" or just paranoic? Mega huge banks have gone bust; mega huge car manufacturers having their begging bowls out in DC; Circuit City has gone bust this week and each day we hear of more companies down the pan. Do you think maybe we are seeing signs of BP heading the same way? Problems with prizes; problems with contests; barely any useful advice that hasn't been on their Q&A pages for years etc atc. I know what it is telling me folks and as the promised $39 sub for renewal is now $50 I have pretty well made up my mind re March renewal. A pity as I got to really enjoy exchanges with some of you guys. Thankfully I do have a few email addresses so I will still be able to exchange pleasantries with some.

I did finally get mine..It did take a while longer. They sure are small, aren't they? I'd a lot rather have the extension on my gallery then that little bag.
