Photo Manip Software

Besides Photoshop, has anyone ever used GIMP? I understand it was developed for Linux and there is also a Windows version.

Maybe searching for 'Gimp' helps?

I have use GIMP, it was a bit complicated and when I saved a proyect in JEPG I couldn't open the picture in another program. I thing I really like is fractal trace and cubism.

Which version of Gimp do you use? I am now using 2.6 on Windows Vista and I also use Photofiltre and I have never had a problem opening files between the applications. The thing I like about Gimp is it does all that Photoshop does and it is free. There is another Gimp application called GimpShop. It is a Gimp 2.2.8 that is dressed up like Photoshop. I didn't care for that one too much.
