  Hello Harischandra,
I recently took John Siskens "Understanding Tools of Photography Lighting" http://www.betterphoto.com/courseOverview.php?cspID=172

This is a great course to gain understanding of what you will need and John provides lots of information about a multitude of lighting scenarios. I highly recommend this course before going out and spending a lot of money on lighting, etc..
Good Luck,
Carlton

  Hi Harischandra,
My reply is about an online course taught here at Better Photo. There are too many books about lighting and I dont know any of them that will cover as much ground as you are asking about and I have read quite a few. You would most likely need to read several books to gain that much information.
Check this link - http://www.betterphoto.com/article.php?id=148

Its a start.

You can get many books and CDs on Ebay as well.
Resurch your equiptment and then "play"
with your lights!
you will learn the most by playing with your lights.
learning how light & shadows fall and what they can do for your shoot.
and with digital it is so easy and fun to test for your results.

I hope this helps,
Debby Tabb
