Photography Question

Portrait of two persons

I have the following problem.
I would like to take a photo of two persons (portrait photo) that their heads have a small gap between them.

Where should I focus so none of them is blurred?

I am using a SONY-A350 with 18-70 lense.
Thank you in advance

don't know the camera but if you can switch on/off autofocus all you do is autofocus on one person switch off autofocus to Manual then aim between both heads. You can also aim at one person then crop the photo. I usually use the 1st method since its less work for me.

Assuming both people are the same distance-to-lens you can focus by aiming at one of them, pressing the button halfway so that the focal point is locked, then compose your scene, then press through to release the shutter.

Have fun!
