Photography Question

Box photography

Hello all! I am new to this site and actually to photography. My question is about photos I have seen where the subjects are in a box and then I think photoshop-ed into one picture with many different boxes/snaps. Could someone tell me how this is done and what equipment (lighting, software, programmes etc) I would need to do this.
Thank you for your help!

  Hi Beti,

Perhaps you are asking about a specialty known as Tabletop Photography. In this art, photographer create miniature scenes using tiny models. Sometimes the layout is just on a flat table, sometimes the arrangement is built inside a box. The inside walls serve as a decorated backdrop. Is this what you want to ask about?

Best regards,

OR (another shot in the dark...) perhaps Beti is indicating photo mosaics?

I found this site on the net. I am interested in doing this with my kids but don't know why he uses a white box (the kids are actually in a white wooden box) and how do you know what box size it should be?

  Beti:

I checked out the site and that was really neat and would like to know myself how this is done. I bet the pictures are taken of the kids and placed into the box with some sort of program...

I know a person here on better photo that might be able to help if you e-mail her through better photo.

Here is the link... just type your name, your e-mail and your question into the comments field with the same link above so this will give Paola an example on what your wanting to accomplish...

It's worth asking her since she is good at this sort of thing.

Turn the kids loose with a bunch of different sized boxes. You'll find the right size real quick. Kids and boxes are a great match.
