Canon EOS 30D - contrast problem About a year ago (and after much research), I purchased the Canon EOS 30D. From the beginning, all indoor shots were perfect, but about 85% of ALL outdoor shots were extremely poor quality. The top half of each photo was almost white-washed out completely, and you could not make out the tops of buildings, or trees, etc. If I took photos of people, in nearly all cases, the subjects would come out ok, the background would also be white-washed out, so that it just looked like about 3 flash lights had been used, when in actual fact, NONE had been used whatsoever. The mode I use mostly is 'program mode', where I set the ISO to 100 outdoors, 200 at the most, but rarely. I also use the automatic mode faily frequently, and get exactly the same disappoing results. As a semi-prof. photographer, I obviously do not take photos facing the sun or where it is too bright, so this can be ruled out totally. My local Canon 'Customer Service' shop, are useless, and tells me that these 'white-washed' photos are fine. I asked him if he is seriously telling me that this is Canon's high standard??! Does ANYBODY else had/have this problem ? Please advise, as I will be soon be writing to a more senior member of Canon in the future, and would like to know what anybody else has to say. Many thanks!

Hi Viviana, the warranty on that 30D must be about through... "As a semi-prof. photographer, I obviously do not take photos facing the sun or where it is too bright" You should, though. And use fill flash. Like every (pro...) tabloid photog does! It would help identify the prob if you illustrated it by posting a couple of those pix that you don't like but the Canon service people say is normal here. Have fun!
