Getting Photo of the Day


I am a subscriber to Better Photo and used to get the photo of the day. I haven't gotten it for months and miss it terribly. It was the first thing I looked for when getting on my computer in the morning, giving me inspiration for the day! I went to the subscriber page as directed by you in newsletter but got a message that I am already a subscriber.

Can you help to make sure that I get the Photo of the Day? Thanks. Lois

Thanks for your interest in the POTD newsletter, but sorry you haven't been receiving it.

This sure sounds like a spam filtering issue. You might want to add our email address to your contact form with your email provider to avoid a bounce with the newsletter. You will want to be sure to add Snapshot @ betterphoto.com to your allowed list.

However, since you are receiving some things from BetterPhoto (I'm guessing today's SnapShot and an auto-notification of this response) but not POTD, then it's possible that your spam filtering software might have size restrictions. (POTD does include a big photo.) Maybe you could check your spam software about that. Otherwise, if this is not the case, let me know and I'll pass this along to the tech crew to see if your emails are bouncing.

  Hi Kerry,

Thanks for the quick response. I've added Snapshot@betterphoto.com to my address book. I don't use a spam filter so I don't think the address is the problem. I use to get the photo of the day using the same cable provider I have now so I don't think size is the problem either. I do get all other forms of BetterPhoto communication so it is odd that I just don't get the Photo of the Day. Perhaps you could pass my problem along to the tech crew. If the emails are bouncing back maybe we can figure out the problem. Thanks! Lois

  I've had the same problem for a long time. I added every permutation of BP addresses I could think of into the spam filter, and still the POTD letter doesn't come through even though everything else from BP comes through fine. Go figure.

  Lois I had stopped receiving the POTD email. Yet when I checked, it said I was still signed up.

So I unsubscribed and then resubscribed and that seemed to do the trick. I am now back to getting them.

Thanks for the input - glad that worked for you! Hmmmmmm, unscribing and re-subscribing could be "related" to such computer solutions as refreshing a page that wasn't working - or re-starting the computer.

In any case, I'll ask the tech folks for any further advice!

And if you don't want to receive the newsletters at your original email (your main sign-in), then you must go the unsubscribe route: (sign in with original email/password to Member Center > Member Info and unsubscribe at bottom of the page).

How do I unsubscribe to newsletters?

You can unsubscribe to newsletters in two ways: 1) In the emailed newsletter, look for the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of the page; or 2) Sign in to your Member Center > Member Info tab, and at the bottom of the page is an Unsubscribe link.

  It happened to me. I contacted BP.

They told me that they had issues with the system and some didn't receive the POTD, but that the issue was fixed.

The next day I started receiving it again.

Susan's way should work too. Wish I'd thought of doing that instead of "bugging" BP staff.
