Need a Macro Lens for Nikon D40

Hi everyone! With spring coming I'm looking to buy a macro lense for my Nikon D40. The D40's adaptability with other lenses is not good from what I hear. I think they planned it that way because their lenses cost a ridiculous amount of money compared to other companies in my opinion. I can't afford to buy the AFS macros that Nikon offers for twice the price of my camera. I'm looking for a nice alternative off brand that would work even if the auto focus doesn't work. Since I am planning on doing mostly flowers with it I can handle focusing myself! Any help would be much appreciated!

  Hello Aimee,

A great choice would be the (AF-S Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED)..An excellent lens, 1:1 repro and I feel is quite reasonable in price..about $380.

You can read all about it after doing a search on the net.

All the best,

Pete

Thanks so much Pete! That kinda price is more in my range. $900 was what I was finding and I'm a stay at home mommy with rolled coins under the bed! LOL! I'll do some research on it....thanks a million!
