Photography Question

Sigma lens

Hello again,

I want to buy either a 24-70 2.8 Sigma lens or a 17-70 2.8 sigma. Which do you like best for a good walk around lens. I would like to use this as my main lens at a wedding I have coming up. I have researched and researched but I am so confused! Thank you!

I'm also looking at the 28-70. I wonder if I would miss the wide zoom though.

I use the 24-70 and like it for a walk-around, but tend to use the 18-200 OS lens when walking around for the longer range and OS. I use the 24-70 and compliment with the 70-200 when situations are more friendly for changing lenses. Both are f2.8 through the range, and I think slightly better than the 18-200 (and the OS is handy for walking about where you may be hand-holding shots). You are also talking about $1400 or so, opposed to half that for the single lens.

I've not used the 17-80, but think the disadvantage of the lower 2.8-4.5 might steer me to the 24-70. It is also not EX rated.

For what it is worth!
