Post process files to upload

I'm hoping to get some input here on how prepare you're files to upload to your gallery. I work on a Macintosh platform, shoot in raw and usually process my files out off Lightroom into PhotoshopCS3. I'm using the prophoto workspace, and convert to sRGB when I resize the file for use on the web. I usually resize to 72ppi and either 500 or 480 on the short side. and save as either a jpeg or a tiff, I've used both because I,m not sure which is better so I've been experimenting. The images look good on my screen but I.m not so sure how they look on others. On my screen (Apple LCD) they look good but I've viewed them on a couple of Windows platforms that didn't look very good. I do know about calibration issues, and I calibrate with a Spyderpro 2. Oh! Yah! 6500K @ 2.2 Sure could use some input to see if I'm looking good out there !!

Thumbnails look fine. I don't think it makes a difference uploading jpegs that come from a tiff, or stay tiff. I tried side by side and the jpeg looked the same as a tiff.
You might want to add some sharpening. All digital needs a little. Uploading here takes more than what you would do as a print.
Some sharpen after resizing. I do it before. Make the short side 480. It looks better than 500.
I have windows, so it can be other's computer monitor. The brightness level they have it on. Otra cosa.

This little test will put to rest what I've always believed...that TIFF's will upload better to BP than JPEG's.
