MIRROR LENS I have seen a lot of mirror lens for sale, I'm thinking of buying a 500mm f/8. The price is very low, also the speed, I would like to know how well they perform, are they worth buying. Would I like the quality of the photos. Thank you.

To my experience, opinions are split over mirror lenses. Most professionals I know don't use them, although they have some advantages (low weight, low price, short in length compared with telephotos). A feature I don't like with them is the fact that they yield smaller objects which are out of focus as "ellipsoids of confusion". Also, you cannot alter aperture, and must use neutral density filters instead.
