	Passage of Light EFS17-85 @47mm, f/16, 1.6 Seconds, +.3ev, ISO100, RAW, tripod. My annual tradition; shooting in the south arcade aisle of Washington National Cathedral, to capture the early morning light in late fall/early winter. The sun, stays lower in the sky and creates a marvelous light show in this aisle, as light coming through the south wall windows paints the limestone in gorgeous reflected color. The first year, I shot 10 weeks into owning my first P&S camera ("Light Lives Here"). The next year, I put that Sony camera on a tiny tripod and, misunderstanding, used an ND filter ("Wilson's Tomb"). This third annual tribute to the light is from my Canon XTi, with tripod, no filters, in a horizontal format for the first time. 11-07 Second Place, T&P, Featured Image, Snapshot #439. Happy Winter, fellow BP Contest Enthusiasts! Once again, we gather together to await the verdict of The Judges... Break out the spiked eggnog (or perhaps a nice mulled cider), dust off the fruitcake (maybe enrobing it in dark chocolate would help?) and call down the lucky hambone chant---however you see fit, settle in for the waiting, wondering, wishing and hoping the Judges leave a little silver or gold under your tree, in your stocking, near the menorah, the kinara, or perhaps the Festivus Pole... Even better, they could leave it in your Gallery... Let the fun begin, as we count down to the November Finalists & Winners announcements, due later this month! All are welcome!

Please share here that one photo you feel is your best chance to capture a Contest Medal this time. Or perhaps, that one special image you really WISH would've brought home a medal, even if it didn't make Editor's Pick this time. (Kudos BP, on the EP logo change!)
One gentle reminder: Please refrain from posting half a dozen of your entries; ideally, this thread is about sharing that one really special, excellent, meaningful, or otherwise favorite or hopeful image of yours! Best of luck, to all Contestants!

Helpful hints, re: Forum Threads and attaching photos:

1) Sign into BP completely (name + password.)

2) If you have NOT YET entered the Contest today, you can use the "Photo ID" to pull an existing image from your Member Center into this thread (avoiding a duplicate image upload.) Get the Photo ID# from your Member Center, come to back this thread, click Respond, enter the text of your reply, then choose "1" from the images-to-attach drop-down. Click Submit; at the next screen populate the "Photo ID" box at the right. You can skip the other fields on that screen.

3) If you HAVE ALREADY made a Contest entry today before coming to this thread, you can't use the Photo ID method, today. You can either wait until tomorrow to reply here (before your new Contest entry!) or, upload a new copy of the particular image (from your PC) into this thread. This produces a duplicate image in your Member Center; however, you don't have to make that duplicate visible in your Gallery.

4) If you're uploading a duplicate, perhaps title it "Fav for Forum" so it stands out in your Member Center, for easier housecleaning later... Adding an "Original displayed in my Gallery" description can help direct viewers to seek the original image in your gallery, when leaving comments. Likewise, if you see a photo here and want to comment on it, try to tell if it is a duplicate. (Are there no comments to be seen on it? Does it say "Original displayed in my Gallery"?) As a courtesy, try to find the original image in the member's gallery, and leave your comment there instead of on a duplicate---so if the duplicate is deleted later, the comment history isn't lost.
