How to change backgrounds?

I am using CS3 and I am having trouble figuring out how to take a background from one image and place it into another image. Thank you!

There's the "quick selection" tool. If you select anything, be sure to click "refine edges" at the top right.

When I do this, it usually involves opening both images and dragging one background layer to the other so you're left with one image with both backgrounds. Then I use a layer mask and one of the feathered brushes set to a low opacity and paint around the edges where I want the other background to show through. This quick explanation will only help, though, if you have a good working knowledge of using layer masks--if you need to "brush up" (bad pun) you can google to find tutorials.

Hope something here helps...
