Collages--frame with or without glass I just created a 15 x 15 collage with 9 3" photos in it. I did it this way so I didn't have to matt and frame it with glass. The question is...should I frame it with glass or no glass. I prefer no glass. I would love to hear your suggestions on how to present a framed collage. Thanks...

Angie, alot depends on what you print the collage on. If you print it on canvas, then no glass. But most photos on either glossy or matte, I still prefer glass. It helps protect the print from deteriorating. I also prefer clear glass, not non-glare. Glass right next to the print is not a good idea either. So, I still advise a mat with clear glass. There are several finishing sprays, but I don't use them, so someone else may be able ot advise on this. Remember......Presentation is important.

Angie, I don't know the answer to your question but I have a question for you. How did you create the college? You can respond to me directly thru my BP gallery as to not distract from those with answers to your question. I do agree with Sherry - mat with glass would make a good presentation. Marquee Smith

If you want the piece to really last you should mat and glaze it. I would use non-glare glass or museum glass if the reflection bother you. They, the reflections, certainly bother me. There is an article on framing on my website (www.siskinphoto.com). Look for the magazine link. Thanks, John Siskin
