Any Food Photography Courses?

Hi
Anyone know where I could find an online course which teaches food photography?

  Hi Smita,
Thanks for your question! I have done several food jobs, you can see some of them on my website: www.siskinphoto.com. My experience is that there are fewer problems with photographing food than many people expect; the problem is in food preparation. I have had the good fortune to work with good food stylists and some excellent chefs. You might want to look at my class on Assignment Photography. While it doesn’t apply specifically to what you do, it is good general information on doing photography for business. I have always shot food with strobes, because they have good color control and don’t generate heat. If you don’t have experience with strobes, you might want to take my class: Building Better Photographs with Strobes.
Thanks,
John Siskin

ALthough I don't disagree with John, be aware that this is a very specialized field.

My son is in advertising and represents a number of restaurants. He's indicated that there are very few photographers that can do the job.

In fact, and to go beyond food photography, check out images for the major Department Stores in circulars and newspapers. I was amazed to learn that these are done and controlled almost exclusively "in-house."

It's a worthy goal; do check out John's course. But, I expect there may be many, many stumbling bl;ocks beyond simply food preparation.
