Photography Question

Brenda K. Smith

Adding Copyright Symbol to My Digital Images

I have Photoshop Elements IV, and I cannot find a way to embed a copyright mark or my name into the photos I have taken. Can you help me with this?
Thanks!

In Paint Shop Pro, I use the text tool and then adjust the opacity and size.

Using the type tool - hold down the Alt key and type 0169 - release & hit the space bar on a PC. With Mac its option G

Carlton is correct.
He also assumes – as do I – that you DO know how to type your own name...
Or are we taking too much for granted?

;-P

Well, leave it to a fellow Smith to be the wise guy:-))) At least for today I remember how to spell my name. Thanks for the info I will try it out very soon.

  The format is usually:
Copyright © 2007 [your name]
Copyright can be added in several ways, including right in the image as suggested here, as part of the metadata (see File>File Info), as a watermark, and as a digitally embedded registration (digimark). None of these are foolproof protection of your images, and usually the most obvious works best.

Richard -- I can spell my name but I don't know even what the first step is toward adding a copyright as a watermark. Could you kindly spell it out, starting from the step right after "Open Elements 4"? Even better, for me, would be if you could spell it out for Lightroom.Hope this isn't too tedious, and thank you.

Thanks, Carlton. I should clarify: I know how to make the copyright symbol. My question is how to get it onto a photo, and I'm afraid I really mean starting from the very first step after launching the app. (Thanks for the nod to Mac users; I am one.)

In Photoshop I add a layer and select the type tool and type my © 2007 Carlton Ward and then I also use the eye dropper to select the color I want the lettering to be and select the font type and size that fits best and then the move tool to position it exactly where I want it.
Once I have it how I like, I flatten the image and save it. Before you flatten, You can save any image with layers as .psd (photoshop file) to be able to go back and adjust the layers again afterwards. I dont know paint shop pro but I would think you will able to do this in that program as well.
Hope this helps - Carlton

  Brenda,
If I understand your question, It is simple. © alt is pressed while typing 0 1 6 9.
