Photography Question

Mark Kononczuk

what MP for pro images?

What standard of camera do I need for all stock/photojournalism/magazine work? I have heard that some agencies only accept 11 MP or more.
Up until now all my work has been on slide-does anyone know of a reasonably priced method of getting slide images scanned?

Exactly: SOME agencies. Other agencies have different requirements, Mark.

I used an Epson "perfection" scanner for a production company I work with - I dont remember the model number but it was about $250 that did a very good job of scanning slides. You could select the DPI to make them as large as you needed. It came with a slide tray that could load about a dozen slides. I scanned these at 800 DPI and this made it a slow process but scanning them as large TIFFs, they become very usable when you are done. The slides I scanned were very old and I had to photoshop them to get them looking new again (spot removal-color enhancement) but the end project looked very good and was worth the time, $$ & effort.
Hope this helps.

great, thanks, I'll get one of these scanners.the stock agency I wanted to sell some slides to said they have to be drum scanned. This is way too expensive and time-consuming. Thanks again,
Mark
