convert positive slides to


i have many positives over the years and I want to convert them into digital. I am beeing touted the canon 990F but I know nothing about it. so you have some words of wisdom?

  Yes, the Epson V700. Which is not to say anything bad about the Canon. The V700 works for me.

Something to consider: No scanning software that I know of can perform dust spot cleanup on Kodachromes. You'll have to learn these techniques in Photoshop.

If you are a perfectionist, buy a dedicated 35mm film scanner, such as the Nikons. If you must have the best (short of a $5000 drum scanner), get a Nikon.
