Burnign DVDs

I have PSE 4.0 and am trying to burn a slide show onto a DVD. I follow the directions and it says for DVD to watch on TV. But when I get to the point where it should start to burn the computer spits the DVD backout and says I need a CD-R or a CD+RW. Has anyone else had this situation and what did you do about it? Thank You

If I'm not mistaken PSE 4.0 relies on the use of Adobe Premier Elements 2.0 to burn a DVD for "viewing." Elements 5.0 is sold in a bundle with Premier Elements 3.0.

Adobe just likes to make a lot of money.

You can get a free download from Microsoft [Photoshow 3.0] and make a fine slideshow. To burn a DVD, you'll have to purchase a $20 download [it the DVD burner from Sonic [Roxio's Easy Media Creator 8.0 and/or Photosuite 8.0.]

You need to be careful, however. When I burn a DVD, I can't play it through my DVD player and high-def TV because the DVD player can't read the file. I believe it's a compatability issue - my DVD player is more than five years old. It can be viewed on systems with newer DVD players.
