How to shoot smoke or steam from a pot In addition to dark background, how can I shoot steam from a boiling kitchen pot, or smoke from smoldering herbs?

Use steam tablets. (No, I'm NOT kidding) Bounce light with a fill card back into the steam don't try and light it directly. M.
