Photography Question

Looking for advice on using cs2

does anyone know how I can make a photo that is black and white with a little colour. I have done it before but I cant remember how I did it. I vagely remember doing 2 layers changing one to black and white and merging them again and rubing the top one away to get the colour underneath, but as I said I cant remember how I did it.
thank you for all help
Aileen

Aileen, if you had two layers, one on top that is black and white and the other, a color copy, below it, you can use the Layer Mask to 'erase' portions of the top layer to reveal the lower color layer. You can control the opacity of the brush to control how much of the top layer you 'erase'. You do not merge the layers while working on them, only when finished with your image.
