upload photo to discussions

Feel a little silly asking since I know I've done this before, but recently, I have tried a few times to put a photo into discussion like critique and it ends up in the contest instead.... have some things changed? what step am I be missing? gotta get better...cant do it without everyone's great critiques and advice!!!!
Thanx!

  Hi Pam... a few things.
1. Be sure you're fully signed into BP first (name & password.)
2. For the Constructive Critique area of the forums, you simply upload a photo to your gallery, (do not pick a category from the Contest drop-down box) then immediately start a Discussion on that photo---in which YOU choose "Constructive Critique" from the drop-down box.

If you want to add a photo into an existing discussion thread, and you're signed in already, when you hit Respond, you'll see a drop-down box to select how many photos you want to attach into the thread. (Generally, one.) When you click Submit, you'll get the screen allowing you to select a file from your hard drive to upload. (Again, do not populate the Contest Category drop-down box.)
A side note... If, when you are replying to an existing thread, and attaching a photo in your reply, you have NOT YET entered the contest for that day, AND the photo you want to attach already lives in your gallery/Member Center, you can enter the Photo ID number, instead of browsing your C: drive.

Phew... hope any of that helps!

I am afraid I have the same question, but would like to start a discussion on existing photos from my gallery instead of uploading new ones for discussion. In that case, exactly which screen will I find the option for Constructive Critique? I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks!

Hi Shelley... you can only "put" your photo into the Constructive Critique Forum, if you are the very first person to comment on the photo, once it is first uploaded. If you already have a comment thread going on a photo, you can't move that photo over to the CC Forum.
To put a new, uncommented photo into that forum, first upload the photo to your member center. Immediately, view that uploaded photo and click the link for "Discuss This Photo"---you'll notice you're the first to comment on it, and you get to choose, from the drop-down box on the discussion screen, what 'category' you want. Pick Constructive Critique, and enter a text message like "I'd really like some constructive critique on this." Hit Submit, and you're done. Your photo will now appear in the Forum Discussion Thread for "Constructive Critique"---although that is no guarantee that anyone will, in fact, leave a constructive criticism for you! Good luck!
