Photography Question

Maintaining lenses free of dust

Since the first day I purchased a 18-200mm Tamron lens, dust has been in every picture that I have taken and to make things worst, spots on the pictures super-size horribly. Any suggestions on how get rid of such things without having to buy a new lens or getting it clean at a professional store for a hefty fee?

If it's a digital camera, it's probably dust on the sensor. Dust on the lens doesn't usually show up on slr stuff.

Most dust that shows up in digital images comes from dust on the sensor, not dust in or on the lens.

Try a test: take some images of the sky at different focal lengths and different apertures. Any spots that show up the same in each image are from dust on the sensor.

Do a search here on sensor cleaning for some suggested methods and tools.
