Photography Question

How do you put a sigmature on photographs

Hi I have noticed that some photos have a specific signature by the photographer on their prints. I would like to know how I can put my signature on my prints before I have them reproduced. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks GWJ

Insert the signature digitally before printing, or get a special pen to sign your photos with.

  Hello Grant

I use Photoshop to make mine. You can get a free 30 day trial from Adobe.com after you register on the site.. its free.. then go to the downlaod area and download the TRIAL of Photoshop CS3.

I use Photoshop CS2 and in that ( andin CS3 ) what I do is this:

Open a new document, make it a rectangle size.. say. 7 x 4 inches

set the back ground to TRANSPARENT
then click on OK.

Either use the Text tool or teh brush tool if you have a graphics tablet to actualy write your name. When you have it the way you like it..

Go to the tool bar at the top and click on LAYER then flatten image.

Then FILE> Save as.. name it.. then from the list choose PNG

once its saved, you can open any image and your newly created file...

to get the signature to the image. Get the MOVE tool from the tool box, click on your signature file.. and drag it to the image you want it to be on, release the mouse button... now to size it to look right..

make sure your Signature layer is highlighted and then CTRL+T to bring up the free transform tool... to resize, hover over the little squars on the dise of your image you will see the curser change to a double ended arrow.. click on one of teh squears and press the COBTROL key as you resize your signature. One its where you want it.. go to LAYER> flatten image... then back to FILE> safe as .. name it.. then save as Jepeg.. or what ever kind you want...

Your now done..

Good luck..and happy shooting

Robert
