Disappearing Editor's Picks? I wrote down each of my photos that had received the Editor's Pick medallion, in my own notes of entries. Now I notice that two that did have medallions no longer have them! Has anybody else noticed theirs disappearing? Possible explanation??? Editor's change of mind? I know I'm not seeing things...I wrote them down and also lined them up in my Gallery a certain way.

Joy, I have had this happen also and I don't think we're alone. Evidently whoever is in charge of EP's is on vacation and hopefully will be fixed when he returns.

I came to this forum to ask this same question. The medallion has disappeared from what I consider my 'best' image to date. I'm *hoping* this means it is advancing in the contest and will soon have an even better medallion under it. ... Yet, this is all speculation!

It's simply a glitch in the system that is waiting for a programer to return from vacation to fix. Don't read anything else into it. (per BP staff)

How long is he going to be on vacation? I had another EFP button dissapear today (August 13) to make a total of 4 lost buttons :( I keep track of all contest entries and if the get an EFP....so I am sure I have been slowly losing some. Weird......I miss my buttons! Leslie

I'm wondering if the buttons will just reappear when the programmer returns, or if we will have to notify him of which ones we're missing, before he can fix them? Anyone know?

I have had another EP button disappear. It was there last night and today it's gone. I sure wish we knew what was going on. I wonder... if the image doesn't get to round two if they take off the badge? It was one of my favorites..........Like Leslie, I miss my buttons.

I had one button missing (Keshia in flight) as of today I have another button missing (View of the Vegas Skyline looking like NYC). Wonder if we going to get them back.

I lost three from June Contest during the month of July and I have lost one yesterday from the July contest.

I lost one from the June contest last month (July) and the one I lost today is from the July contest. Leslie, did any of the ones you lost last month become a finalist? Mine didn't.

They have a glitch. Once it's on your gallery, they don't remove it if you fail to reach the next round. I lost at least one as well, and hopefully it's still elibile for the contest. I would assume so...

I think there may be an answer to our question. Go to Resources>Help>Website/misc.> Internal:Wants emblem on past Editor's Pick's images. Does this mean they won't fix the disappearing emblems or am I reading this wrong?

Thanks, Sherry. I'll paste that here: "Hello XXX, I appreciate you letting us know about emblems not appearing on certain images. Unfortunately, due to the very large volume of images,we will not be able to back track and apply the Editor's Picks emblem to past chosen images. From this point on, the emblem on Editor's Picks should appear on the applicable images in your gallery. We hope that you enjoy this new feature on the BetterPhoto site!" Seems to me as if you are reading it right. I don't know if it refers to the recent disappearing emblems or not. Sure hope not. :S

I don't think that message refers to recent disappearing emblems, but maybe I'm reading it wrong. I hope it's not the case, as I "lost" an emblem on a photo I think is good. Then again, we can always re-enter them so it's not a big deal, imho ... I re-entered a photo or two that didn't get an EFP the first time, and they got 'em the 2nd time. But ... I've gotta believe that programmer is back from vacation by now, because this issue was first brought up over a month ago! :)

OK, I lost another one this morning so I wrote to them and got this prompt answer : "We were experiencing some technical issues with the new emblem implentation. It has recently been fixed. The good news is that from this point on, emblems awarded to images uploaded to the August entries, should no longer disappear. However, due to the sheer volume of entries, past and present, we will not be able to reinstate emblems." Thanks, BP!!

Thanks Colleen for the info. Too bad, though, that they won't reinstate lost emblems. However, will they reinstate lost Aug. emblems? The one you lost today, was it a July or Aug. entry? My lost emblems are from June and July, so I guess they wil remain emblem-less. They will be good candidates for re-submissions.

Odd....I have never lost a button during a current months contest, it is always from the previous month.

Jim, Did the computer glitch kick the photos out of the running for that month's contest or just knock the buttons off them? IOW could a photo that lost its emblem still be a finalist or winner without our having to resubmit it? No problem either way, but knowing would help us decide whether to resubmit a favorite image or not. Thanks.

Hi Nikki, The photos did not make it to the next round so I would encourage you to resubmit. The emblem should have stayed anyway (and will on all future photos that don't go further). Bottom line: I do encourage you to try again either this month or next. Happy shooting and happy uploading! Jim
