Photography Question

Kelly S. Dickinson

photoshop problem

The problem I am having with photoshop CS2 is the workspace size. I want my workspace to be 5x5. I select new under file and put in 5x5 inches and what comes up looks like maybe half that size, but it is showing at 100%. I just started having problems last night and can't seem to get this back to where it was before. I'm not sure if I selected something by accident that is making it work like this. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

The 100% that you see just means that you can see 100% of the pixels on screen--it may not have to do with the Actual Size of the image. The issue here will likely be the ppi (pixels per inch) that you have chosen. If you make a 5x5 inch image with 10 pixels per inch, there will be only 50 x 50 pixels in the image, and it will show up on screen at 100% as about 3/4ths of an inch square.

The resolution you use will be important to the result.

  Richard,

Thank you for your help. I changed the resolution and got the desired results. This must have got changed somehow. Anyway, I am back in business. Thanks again!
