tamaron lens for Canon 400d?

I was given two tamron lenses: 28-70mm tele-macro and a 70-210mm 4/5.6. Will these work with my Canon Rebel Xti 400D? I can't seem to find any website that lists the cameras they will work with or if an adaptor is needed.

Tamron makes their lenses in many different mounts to fit Nikon, Canon, Pentax, etc. cameras. If your Tamron lenses autofocus in the Canon mount, then they "should" work on the digital EOS cameras.

"Should" is qualified in that the Canon mount is entirely electronic and Canon does not license the exact communications used. The third party lens makers backward engineer that communication. Mostly they've gotten it right. But sometimes not. There have been cases of 3rd party lenses (especially Sigma, but not limited to them) that worked fine on EOS cameras that were introduced before 2002, but have incompatibilities on later EOS cameras.
