i keep buying and returning digital cameras to har

I keep buying and returning digital cameras. They all have so many features on them that it freaks me out. Is there a digital camera out there that is simple to use, without all the bells and whistles, but still takes good pictures? Please help,
Desperate

Look up "point and shoot". These cameras are very simple. Just turn it on, aim it at what you want to photograph, and press the shutter. Can't do much else. (Of course, there will be zoom controls and a couple other settings, but they won't get in your way.)

If you get an SLR, you may have trouble. Otherwise, even a point and shoot with features shouldn't be a problem; just ignore the features! Why return it?

Check out the Kodak C875, for example. That is sooooo simple (it doesn't look like it can do much other than take a picture), and it doesn't look too bad or to expensive, either.

My wife teaches the school newspaper elective at her elementary school. She bought a Canon Powershot A540 for her student reporters to use.

It is very simple to use, yet takes very decent pictures even on Auto.

Her 8, 9, and 10-year-olds seem to be able to handle it. Although this is a school for gifted kids. ;-)

  Hi
Maybe just get them off of eBay if you are going to keep trying out different cameras. Basically as others have said here maybe you don't need a SLR just get a simple point and shoot that you can fit in your pocket and just turn it on and push the button. I agree Canon's are great cameras. If you find the camera starts limiting your potential or options then invest in a better one. Just a thought.

  Hi
I would not buy a camera online if you're having trouble using them. Go to a store and play with it first before you buy it. Talk to people you know and see if they'll let you give theirs a try first. I agree with the first response...you don't want SLR! But a Kodak Easy Share is basic and takes great pictures. I certainly wouldn't return something just because you can't figure out some of it. Great chance to learn how! Don't give up, shop around and talk to some people.
