Pro Labs

Can anyone recommend their favorite pro lab. I live in Northern Calif. and use Bay Photo. I'm happy with them but wonder if there's a reall difference in a top notch lab and which are considered "top"...Thanks!

  To do what, Donna?
I live in the neighborhood too. Bay photo has singlehandedly trashed one commercial job I did a number of years ago, tried to deny responsibility, lied about it in fact, and I never went back.

Look at Isgophoto.com. They're a pro lab in Burbank, took over A&I in L.A. Isgo's b&w printing is excellent and their film processing is also top shelf.

Robyn Color in San Francisco is good, but I like Newlab even better, also in San Francisco. If you don't mind going out of state and waiting awhile to get your work back, Gammaphoto.com in chicago is perhaps one of the best pro labs in the country. Out of state, you usually can avoid sales tax which helps offset the cost of shipping. None of the labs I mentioned, aside from Bay Photo, has ever damaged one of my images or lost a single frame. Their work is on-time, pristine, and always professional grade. I highly recommend them.
Take it light.
Mark

Thanks Mark. I'm doing senior portraits, mostly outdoors but some in the studio. I've had a good time with Bay so far, maybe they've learned from their mistake...Thanks for the ideas.
