Pricing For 6 Day Long Music Industry Shoots

I may have the opportunity to photograph live in concert a rising star in the country music industry. To give a little bit of an idea, the musician is an opening act for really big names that anyone would recognize. Following the concert shoot, would be five days worth of traveling and shooting on the road, not necessarily consecutive. The photos would be used for national advertising, publicity, album cover, art, autographed photos for fans, etc. I'm completely clueless about what to charge except that the man with the publishing company mentioned the going rate is between $6,000 and $10,000. He is the one paying me, and while that sounds good up front, I know the equipment costs will probably eat up a good chunk of that and I want to charge as much as I can get without being money-grubbing jerk. If anyone has any experience in this particular field, PLEASE let me know. Thanks so much guys!

I'm planning on getting a Canon 5D with a 16-35mm, Pentax k10d for a decent backup (I already have some lenses for Pentax), accessories, and some AlienBees lighting for on the road easy set up. Honestly, I don't want to pass all of this on to the customer unless I can do it and still be within a reasonable rate. I'm just getting my business off the ground and this is just making it happen faster than I was planning, but that's obviously a good problem to have.
